KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
2021-2022 School Year
Begins April 14, 2021
Registration forms are now available online. Go to www.pgs.k12.va.us, and click on “Student Registration.” Forms can be printed off, completed, and either e-mailed or dropped off into our new locked drop box located outside the front door. Envelopes will be available above the drop box.
Registration packets will also be available for pick up outside the front door of our school. When you pick up a packet, please write your child’s name and contact information on the clipboard. Complete and return the forms as soon as possible in the envelope provided by dropping it into the locked drop box also located outside the front door. If you have the capability to make copies, you can include a copy of your child’s birth certificate and your proof of residency (see below for required documents).
Once we receive the information, you will be called for an appointment to bring your child in for a short assessment to be given by one of our Kindergarten teachers. At that time, we will also make copies of required documents if needed.
Age Requirements for Kindergarten
- Five years old on or before September 30, 2021
Documents Needed Before Child May Begin School
Birth Certificate (official state copy)
Physical Examination
- A comprehensive physical examination performed no earlier that twelve months prior to entering school (physical form to take to doctor’s appointment is in packet)
- A Certificate of Immunization from a licensed physician stating successful immunization against diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles (rubeola), German measles (rubella), mumps, hepatitis B, and varicella (chicken pox).
Proof of Residency
- A copy of one of the following in parent/guardian’s name with current address: a lease, deed of trust, rental agreement, real estate tax receipt, or military housing document.
