Prince George County Public Schools is pleased to announce our new attendance support initiative, Be Here PG. This year-long initiative will provide essential resources and information about the importance of school attendance, including handouts and tips for families.
Why Attendance Matters?
Regular attendance ensures that students take advantage of essential lessons and discussions, which impacts their grades and overall academic success. Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.
Fortunately, when students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic outcomes and chances for graduating.
