Military Family Support
Welcome Military Families!
South Elementary School is committed to the support of military connected families!
Principal’s Welcome
On behalf of Prince George County Public Schools, I want to welcome you to South Elementary School! We are so glad you are here, and we’re excited to have your child join the South family. We know military life brings frequent moves and big changes, and we want you to know—you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our team is here to help your child feel right at home from day one.
Military children may attend several different schools from Kindergarten through high school, and each transition can bring challenges with enrollment, placement, attendance, and eligibility. At South Elementary, our goal is simple: to help every student succeed and feel cared for. We work hard to create a safe and welcoming environment where children can learn, grow, and connect with others.
We’re also fortunate to have a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) as part of our school community. With your permission, our MFLC can meet with students in classrooms, small groups, or individually to provide extra support during times of change. This partnership helps us ensure your child feels supported socially and emotionally while they adjust.
We’re honored that you’ve entrusted us with your child’s education. We look forward to getting to know your family and partnering with you to make this school year a wonderful one.
Warmly,
Susan Braswell
